How to Achieve Cleaner Laundry with Your Samsung Washing Machine
Laundry is simple, but small mistakes like using too much detergent, overloading the washer, or forgetting clothes can affect the results. Follow these tips to ensure your clothes come out clean every time.
Sorting your laundry is essential. Separate darks from whites to prevent color bleeding. Also, avoid mixing synthetic fabrics (like polyester, nylon, or Spandex) or delicate items with rough materials like towels or jeans to prevent damage. For example, wash white items like shirts, towels, and sheets separately from other colors.
Always follow the detergent manufacturer’s guidelines based on your load size. Never exceed the Max Fill line, even if suggested, as it can cause oversudsing and lead to washer issues. If you lost the detergent cap, avoid guessing amounts, as too much can trap dirt, and too little won’t clean your clothes well. Use the least detergent needed to save money and avoid buildup in your washer. For color-safe bleach, pour it into the detergent compartment or directly into the tub, not the bleach compartment.
Although fabric softener makes clothes softer and smell nice, it can leave chemicals on your garments after washing. It’s better to use less fabric softener or opt for a natural alternative. White vinegar can soften clothes and help clean the washing machine without leaving a strong odor.
Select the appropriate cycle for your laundry type. Your Samsung washer has various cycles tailored for optimal cleaning performance. For instance, the delicate cycle uses cooler water to protect fragile fabrics, while the normal cycle uses hot water for durable items like cotton whites. Always choose the cycle carefully, and refer to your user manual for specific options related to your washer.
Many of us have overloaded the washer to finish laundry quickly, but this can harm both your clothes and the machine. Overloading makes it harder for detergent to reach every item and can cause an unbalanced load, leading to additional issues. Ideally, fill your washer to about three-quarters full, or opt for a smaller load size if necessary.
Always remove clean clothes from the washer immediately. Forgetting wet clothes can lead to wrinkles, musty odors, and even irreversible damage if left too long. Start a load when someone is home to transfer it promptly, and set a timer or alarm on your phone to remind you when it's time to move the laundry to the dryer.
