How to use the Self-Clean feature on your Samsung Top Load Washer
Last Update date : 2024-07-01
Mold can accumulate in hidden areas, leading to unpleasant odors and bacteria growth.
How to Use the Self Clean Cycle:
- Turn on your top-load washer and select the Self Clean cycle. No detergent is needed.
- The washer will soak the tub in water to loosen accumulated dirt, then thoroughly clean the inside and outside of the tub with high-speed spinning.
Good to Know:
- Air It Out: If possible, keep the lid open to ensure thorough drying between cycles.
- Remove Loads Promptly: Take out wet items immediately after the cycle ends.
- Choose Detergent Wisely: Opt for a high-efficiency (HE) detergent.
- Use Less Detergent: Use only the recommended amount or less.
- Avoid Fabric Softener: Liquid fabric softeners can leave residues that contribute to mold. Use dryer sheets or dryer balls instead.
- Dry Gaskets: Wipe around and underneath the door gaskets after every cycle.
- Self Cleaning Cycle: Run a self-cleaning cycle approximately once a month.
Note:
- On 2011 - 2013 models, select the Pure Cycle button.
