Samsung dishwasher cycles, options, and settings
Even though your dishwasher saves a ton of time and energy, are you really getting the most out of it? Although utilizing the auto cycle is the simplest choice, your dishwasher includes a variety of alternative cycles, options, and settings to make sure your dishes are cleaned to their greatest ability. To achieve the greatest results, you must make the appropriate choices based on what you're washing and how you're loading it.
For washing plates, pots, pans, and silverware, your Samsung dishwasher has a variety of programs. The list of cycles is shown below:
- Auto (On previous models, this cycle was known as Smart Auto): After a few minutes of operation, this cycle automatically starts the best cycle after detecting the soil level.
- Chef: Use this cycle to concurrently clean things that are obstinate and lightly dirty. Load objects that are extremely dirty in the Zone Booster area and lightly dirty ones in other locations.
- Delicate: Employ this cycle for dirty, delicate goods like fine crystal and glassware (wine glasses, etc.).
Since clouding or etching may result, avoid using this cycle on any other glassware.
- Express 60 (On earlier models, this cycle is known as Quick+): When you need to swiftly wash dishes, use this cycle. It takes around one hour. For lightly dirty plates, this cycle performs well. In this cycle, there is no drying phase.
- Heavy: For dishes that are quite dirty, use this cycle.
- Normal: Use this cycle for typically dirty dishes. The energy-use label for the dishwasher is based on this cycle.
- Pots and pans: Employ this cycle for filthy pots and pans that are difficult to clean.
- Rinse Only: Use just for rinsing dishes, glasses, and cutlery that won't be immediately cleaned. Use no detergent.
- Self Clean: To clean the tub of the dishwasher, choose the Self-Clean option. When the dishwasher needs to self-clean, the Self-Clean indicator will flicker for 5 seconds.
Always run the Self Clean cycle with the dishwasher empty. Never use it as a wash cycle to clean dishes.
Your Samsung dishwasher has a number of cycle settings as well as selectable cleaning options:
Delay Start: If the "Delay Start" indicator is fitted, it means the dishwasher will delay starting for several hours after you set it up.
Cycle: Press to select a desired wash cycle.
Speed Booster: Select this option to reduce washing time.
Intensive: Select this cycle for heavily soiled items.
Lower Rack: (This option is called Half Load on older models.) If selected, only the lower rack nozzle is activated to reduce both the cycle time and power consumption. Use this option to wash a small load of dishes or glasses on the lower rack. To wash heavily soiled items, select the Storm Wash or Zone Booster option.
Sanitize: With the Sanitize option selected, the water temperature is increased in the final rinse cycle for high-temperature sanitization. The Sanitize light will blink when the water temperature reaches a high enough level and stay lit until the Sanitize option ends, you open the door, or you turn off the dishwasher.
Note: The Sanitize option also improves drying performance.
Smart Control: You can monitor and control the dishwasher remotely through a Wi-Fi connection using the SmartThings app.
The majority of dishwashers have a settings menu. Touch and hold two specified buttons for 3 seconds to open the settings menu. The display will show you the setting you have chosen once you are in the menu. Afterwards, you may use one of the buttons to explore the settings and the other to modify them.
Use the following steps to run a cycle on your Samsung dishwasher:
Open the door, and then load the dishwasher. Make sure you scrape any large chunks of food off the dishes first, but don't pre-rinse.
Add detergent to the detergent dispenser, and rinse aid to the rinse aid compartment.
Press POWER to turn the dishwasher on, select a cycle first, and then select your options. If you change cycles, the options are reset.
Press START, and then close the door within 3 seconds. The dishwasher starts the cycle after draining for a few seconds.
To change or cancel the cycle, press and hold START for 3 seconds. To resume a cycle after you have opened the door, press START and then close the door.
Note:
- If you do not use rinse aid, drying performance will be significantly reduced.
- For some models you can close the door first, and then select and start a cycle.
