How does the UDC (Under Display Camera) in Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 work?
UDC stands for Under Display Camera. In UDC technology, pixel density is reduced in an area of the display panel, and a camera is positioned beneath the panel, allowing the camera to be operated without the need for a camera hole.
UDC(Under Display Camera) : Not only has the visibility of the display improved, but the light splitting when shooting the camera has reduced. In addition, algorithm improvement enhances the detail expression in bright environment (outdoor daytime and indoor bright illuminance).
For the UDC, the pixel density of the display was reduced to 1/5 in the area over the camera, allowing camera functions to be implemented beneath the display.
However, image quality was lacking compared to that of the cover screen camera, as the UDC was physically obstructed.
Samsung AI technology was used to improve resolution and reduce the starburst effect, yielding clear images.
The cover screen camera and UDC have different specs, and do not provide the same results.
However, they do both provide a similarly smooth experience for video conferencing and facial recognition.
