Manage app notifications on your Samsung Galaxy Phone or Tablet
You can improve your notification experience by choosing which apps you want to receive alerts from and customizing the way they send notifications, such as sounds and vibrations. Additionally, you can snooze notifications or access an app's notification settings directly from the Lock screen for added convenience.
Note: Available screens and settings may vary by the wireless service provider, software version, and device model.
To check if you have received any important emails, simply swipe down from the top of your phone's screen using one finger. Your notifications will then appear below the Quick settings panel.
To open the full content of a notification, tap the down arrow. From here, you can take further action by selecting a response to a notification like "reply to a text."
To clear all notifications, tap Clear.
To close the Notification panel, swipe up or tap Back.
To customize your notifications, tap Notification settings at the bottom of the panel; the App notifications screen will open. You can tap the switch next to an app to enable or disable the app's notifications.
Use the following steps if you'd like to see which apps have recently sent notifications:
Note: The drop-down menu will be set to All by default.
You can block notifications you do not want, so they'll be out of your hair
Notifications from various apps serve different purposes. For instance, a social media platform may notify you about a newly uploaded video or a received message in your account. You have the option to personalize the notifications you receive, avoiding those that are irrelevant to you.
App icon badges are small dots that appear alongside your apps to indicate when a new notification has been received. You have the option to enable or disable the display of these badges for your apps.
If many notifications are clogging up your status bar, you can hide them all or only show a couple.
To avoid missing important notifications, turn on flash notifications. Your phone will flash every time you receive a notification, helping you stay on top of things while you're busy.
If you need to temporarily silence notifications or save them for later, you can set up a snooze option.
Note: The Snooze option may not be available on all software versions.
You can ask your phone to offer suggestions when checking your notifications. This makes checking them easier if you’d like to perform an action without opening the app.
Have you ever accidentally closed a notification you were trying to read? With the Notification history feature, you can view your recent notifications exactly as they appeared. Now you'll never miss any important alerts, like system updates.
