The ‘Pause USB PD charging when gaming’ feature directs power directly from a Power Delivery (PD) charger to the phone’s system during gaming, bypassing the battery. This minimizes physical battery charging, reducing performance degradation and prolonging battery lifespan in high-temperature conditions.
How do you enable the ‘Pause USB PD charging when gaming’ feature?

Turn on ‘Pause USB PD charging when gaming.

When the PD Charger of 25W or higher is connected to the phone and the battery is over 20% charged, the menu will be activated in a turned off state by default as shown bellow.
And then you can turn it on to activate the feature
What are the possible reasons for the device charging when the ‘Pause USB PD charging when gaming’ feature is enabled?
In order for the ‘Pause USB PD charging when gaming’ feature to work properly you must first check the following preconditions:
- The game has to be in a running state.
- PD charger (PPS* supported TA, 25W or higher) is connected on the phone.
- The battery on the phone is over 20%.
Note:
- Even if the game is running, ‘Pause USB PD (Power Delivery) charging’ mode does not work in cases where the device is operating with other tasks, such as a display turned off (gaming not terminated) or the screen switched to another one other than the games.
- That is normal operation in accordance with the operation condition of the ‘Pause USB PD charging when gaming’ feature in case preconditions are not met for activation.
Note:
- The feature operates when a PD charger (25W or higher) is connected and the battery State of Charge (SOC) is ≥ 20%
- This mode is exclusive to gaming and switches to battery charging when not gaming or using a non-PD charger.
- It relies on Programmable Power Supply (PPS) technology to adjust voltage and current for optimal charging.
