What should you do if your Samsung Galaxy phone has been compromised?
If you're concerned about your phone being hacked, or if you believe it has already been hacked, there are several precautions you may take. For example, never download apps from the Galaxy Store or Play Store, and never click on harmful links in apps, texts, or emails.
While browsing the web, an ad may appear that attempts to scare you into believing your phone has been hacked. Pop-ups can be avoided by using ad blockers on Samsung Internet. Navigate to and launch Samsung Internet, then select Menu (three horizontal lines). Tap Ad Blockers, then select the services you want to utilize. To begin downloading, tap the Download icon.
Make backup copies of all important data stored on the device before executing the factory data reset.
If your phone hasn't returned to normal, you can do a factory data reset to clear off any installed apps and data.
