If you encounter an error with the KmxService app, which handles encryption keys for Enhanced data protection, you can take the following steps:
Make sure your device is running on the official software version. Enhanced data protection only works on normal, official software and does not function on custom or rooted devices.
Try restarting your device.
If the issue persists, you can delete the data of the KmxService app: Go to Settings > Apps > Sort by > turn on ‘Show system apps’ > search for ‘KmxService’ > Storage > Clear data.
Note: Deleting this data removes encryption key information stored on the device, so ensure you have your recovery code saved before proceeding.
4. Turn off and then turn on the ‘Enhanced data protection’ function.
Note: Disabling this feature will delete any data backed up with end-to-end encryption from Samsung Cloud.
If the problem continues after these steps, you may need to reset Enhanced data protection settings to resolve it.
