Why is the screen of my Freestyle is so dark?
The Samsung Freestyle Projector is a portable, wireless projector that lets you display your content anywhere you go. Its compact size and powerful LED lamp make it ideal for business presentations, classroom lessons, or sharing photos with friends and family.
The screen may appear relatively dark depending on the ambient light.
- Make the surrounding environment a little darker or set the screen mode to [Clear Screen]
- The closer the viewing distance is, the brighter it is, and the farther it is, the darker it is. If you shorten the viewing distance, you can see a brighter screen.
Is it sufficient for daylight/outdoor use?
A dark environment is recommended as the projector has a large effect on the ambient brightness.
- You can use it, but you just need to set the surrounding environment to the darkest or clearest screen possible.
- Since the amount of light is fixed, the closer the distance, the brighter the screen.
When the projector has trouble with the picture, check some steps to help resolve the problem:
If your Projector is flickering or dimming sporadically, you may need to disable some of the energy efficiency feature:
- Go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Contrast Enhancer
- Go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture test
- Go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Reset Picture
- Go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture mode
- Go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings
Note: You may set the brightness, sharpness, color, and tint after.
- Go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test
- Go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Accessibility > Grayscale
If you notice blurring on the screen, use the Picture Clarity Settings function to resolve the issue.
- Go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Picture Clarity Settings
The compression of video content may cause picture distortions, especially in fast moving pictures from sports programs and action movies.
- Remove and reconnect the power cable, and check the remote control battery.
- If the signal reception is weak or poor, screen distortion may be visible but it is not a malfunction.
- Mobile phones used close to the Projector (within 1 m) may cause noise on channels.
Change picture size to 16:9 standard.
- Go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture size settings > Picture size
HD channels will have black bars on either side of the screen when displaying upscaled SD (4:3) content.
Black bars will appear at the top and bottom of the screen when you watch movies that have aspect ratios different from your projector.
Adjust the picture size option on your external device or set the projector to full screen.
- Go to Home Screen > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture size settings > Picture size
