A flashing temperature display on your refrigerator seeks to grab your attention, typically due to an elevated temperature that needs to cool down. This could be caused by leaving the door open. Other possible causes include a power outage, resulting in the display showing error codes.
Please follow the below steps to resolve the issue.
If the door remains open for extended periods and the fridge or freezer doors don't close properly, the display LED will start blinking. It will stop blinking once you close the door.
Note that in some models, if the door stays open, it will beep for 2-5 minutes as a reminder, causing the display LED to flash. After this, it will cease beeping and the display LED will turn off. Lock the door and restart the refrigerator.
If your refrigerator's display begins to blink, check the power cable. It might be loose or improperly connected.
If the power cord is correctly plugged in, you may need to consult with a local electrician about your home circuit.
The control panel may blink when the internal temperature of the refrigerator becomes unusually high. It will stop blinking automatically as the temperature decreases.
The temperature may rise when a door is left open or when the refrigerator recovers from a recent power outage. As long as the refrigerator operates normally, there's no action needed other than waiting for it to cool down, which can take up to 2-4 hours.
The display will show the following error codes.
71 – When the freezer temperature is abnormally high or the freezer door is open for a certain period of time, the freezer temperature will increase and the freezer display LED will blink.
72 – When the refrigerator temperature is abnormally high or the door is open for a certain period of time, the refrigerator temperature will increase and display LED will blink.
73 – When the flex zone temperature is abnormally high or the flex zone door is open for a certain period of time, the flex zone temperature will increase and the flex zone display LED will blink.
Error codes 81,82,83,84,85 or 86 may appear after a power failure. Indicating that the refrigerator has not restarted correctly after the power failure.
So in that case, switch off the refrigerator, wait for a minute and then restart it again to check.
