The correct location and way for installation of an air conditioner

For the Outdoor unit:
- A place where the unit is not exposed to strong wind.
- It should be a place where there is no chances of direct sunlight and rain.
- A solid wall which prevents vibration and is strong enough to hold the outdoor unit weight.
- A place where there is no plants(especially climbing plants) and small animals cannot access.
For the Indoor unit:
- A place where the airflow is not blocked.
- A place where cool air can be distributed throughout the room.
- The indoor unit should be installed at a place where there is no sunlight.
- It should be far from electronics equipment's such as TV, Radio in order to prevent the wave interference in the remote controller of your air conditioner .
Choosing the height and distance of the indoor and outdoor units from the ground and wall facings :
- Please see the above mentioned diagram to get the exact idea of the installation standards.
- A special care should be taken to install the outdoor unit such that it faces the atmospheric surroundings.
- The Indoor unit that is installed inside the room should always be at a greater height from the outdoor unit.
- The length of the pipe that connects indoor and outdoor unit should be at least 3 meters.
- The height difference between the indoor and outdoor unit from the ground depends on the length of the pipe used.
Due to 23° tilt of the earth’s axis, the position of the sun during the day is as shown in the adjoining diagram.
As you can see below, the South and West are the directions which receive the maximum sunlight during the entire day, while East and North receive lesser sunlight (North being the least.)
Hence North and East are the recommended directions for installation of AC.
North Is the best direction for installation of Air-conditioner.
