Why does the sides, the outside cabinet and door gasket occasionally get hot to touch?
[Overview]
There is a pipe inside the front and side cabinet to emit heat from refrigerant while circulating.
[Cause]
It is normal for sides to be hot when operating but if it is seriously hot, you need to check the environment of the refrigerator. (check especially the ventilation.)
[Solution]
1. Why sides are hot?
The heat from the heat conduction of the heat radiating pipes which are installed on the sides of the refrigerator to cool off the refrigerator by radiating the heat. Pipe location and structure is different by models and prevent condensation on the outside of refrigerator.
2. How it happens?
When the sides are cold, it is when the compressor motor is idling. It will get hot once the compressor motor of the refrigerator starts operating. Especially during the summer when the surrounding temperature is high. It may be felt like it is hotter.
Side by Side: Side Cluster pipe and Hot pipe
Front Hot pipe would be possibly warm.
Some of models don’t have cluster pipe on both sides but front plate, so you may feel hotter than other area.
RSH Model: No Side Cluster pipe but Front pipe
Front Hot pipe would be possibly warm.
RSG Model: No Side Cluster pipe but Cluster Rear
Back rear and fridge front plate would be possibly warm.
RL Model: No back cluster pipe but side cluster
Both sides would be possibly warm.
RS2530, RS2630 Model: No back cluster pipe and side cluster
Front plate would be possibly warm.
RR, RZ Model: Side, back cluster pipe and front Hot pipe
Both sides and front plate would be possibly warm.
[Important Reminders]
● Do not install the unit near electric appliances such as oven and stove.
● Do not let children touch the Hot area on both sides and Front.
● Secure enough space at the back for ventilation.
