What is 4K UltraHD in Samsung Smart TV's?

4K UHD is a resolution of 3840 pixels × 2160 pixels (8.3 megapixels, aspect ratio 16:9). It is one of the two resolutions of Samsung ultra high definition television. 4K UHD has twice the horizontal and vertical resolution of the 1080p HDTV format, with four times (2 x 2) as many pixels overall.

The term 4K refers to the horizontal resolution (instead of the vertical) of these formats, which are all on the order of approx 4,000 pixels.

Example: Let's take FHD (Full High Definition) resolution which is (1920 x 1080).

• Width: 1920 × 2 = 3840 (horizontal resolution multiplied by 2).
• Height: 1080 × 2 = 2160 (vertical resolution multiplied by 2).

Hence, the resolution for 4K UHD is (3840 x 2160).
