Samsung Rewards Privacy Notice

Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn. Bhd. (“Samsung”), along with our affiliates and subsidiaries, respect your concerns about privacy. This Samsung Rewards Privacy Notice applies to the personal information we collect through the Samsung Rewards services (“Samsung Rewards”). It does not apply to information collected by other apps, websites or services provided by Samsung.



This Privacy Notice provides information about how Samsung collects, uses and shares your personal information in connection with Samsung Rewards. Our Privacy Policy at http://www.samsung.com/my/info/privacy(“Samsung Privacy Policy”) will also apply to your use of Samsung Rewards, and should be read in conjunction with this Privacy Notice. The Samsung Privacy Policy provides additional information about our personal information practices, including how to contact us. In the event any portion of this Privacy Notice conflicts with the Samsung Privacy Policy, the relevant provisions of this Privacy Notice will apply.





WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Through Samsung Rewards, we obtain and maintain information about you in various ways.



Information You Provide Directly

Samsung Rewards collects information from you directly. For example:

• When you create an account or profile with us, we may ask for information such as your Samsung Account profile and ID, phone number, and date of birth.

• If you redeem any rewards such as physical coupons, physical vouchers or physical items which require delivery, we will collect your delivery information such as shipping name, shipping address, email address and mobile number.

• When you redeem any coupons or gift cards, we will collect the coupon and gift card number you input to redeem rewards or discounts.



Information about Your Use of Samsung Rewards

In addition to the information you provide, we will collect information about your use of our Samsung Rewards through software on your devices and by other means. We will collect:

• Device information: Your hardware model, device hardware information, IMEI number and other unique device identifiers, phone number, app version serial number, sales code, current software version, MCC (Mobile Country Code), MNC (Mobile Network Code), subscription information, operating system versions, and settings of the devices you use to access Samsung Rewards.

• Log information: Diagnostic, technical, error, and usage information such as the time and duration of your use of Samsung Rewards and any information stored in cookies that we have set on your devices. Server log such as API call history, error.

• Other information about your use of Samsung Rewards, such as the apps you use, the websites you visit, and how you interact with content offered through Samsung Rewards.



HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To help you or your device register for Samsung Rewards;

• To provide Samsung Rewards or a feature you request;

• To provide customized content and personalized services based on your past activities on Samsung Rewards;

• To provide customized advertising, promotions, and offers that might interest you on our websites, third-party websites, and online platforms such as social media sites;

• To provide promotions and offers by way of direct marketing communications, only where you have given us your separate consent;

• To provide content that you have watched, purchased, downloaded from Samsung Rewards;

• To analyze our products and services to help us better understand our customers in order to offer the most relevant communications, services and experiences to you;

• To ask you for your opinions on our products and services and to carry out customer surveys, with your separate consent if required;

• To provide software updates, maintenance services, important notices and support for Samsung Rewards;

• To administer contests, lucky draws, redemptions or similar promotions that you enter into, where you have given us your separate consent;

• To comply with the law and legal processes;

• To protect the rights, property, or safety of Samsung Electronics, or any of our affiliates, business partners, or customers;

• and otherwise with your consent.

We use and combine the information we collect about you from Samsung Rewards with data from other Samsung services or features you use. For example, when you purchase Samsung products through our website you can earn points in Samsung Rewards which you can later use to redeem for products in Samsung Rewards.



UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY NOTICE

This Privacy Notice may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our personal information practices with respect to Samsung Rewards or changes in the applicable law. We will indicate at the top of this Privacy Notice when it was most recently updated. If we update the Privacy Notice, we will let you know in advance about changes we consider to be material by placing a notice on relevant services or by emailing you, where appropriate.
