How the Samsung Online Store trade-in works

Our appointed courier will assess your old device upon delivery of your order and collect it within the given period.
Trade-in allows customers to purchase at discounted rates for new devices by trading in their old devices across multiple brands.

What is my device worth?
We check prices regularly to give you the best possible trade-in deals, no matter which brand or network your device comes from. A full list of phones and tablets that qualify for trade-in is available when you choose your new device.
Make sure the unit you are trading in is available and in the same condition (as from the date of appraisal) when our logistics partner delivers your order. Otherwise, your order will be cancelled.

To give you adequate time for Smart Switch, our logistics partner will pick up your old device within two (2) business days from your order’s delivery date, for which you will be required to sign a waiver.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: This includes your agreement to surrender your old within two (2) working days from the date of delivery of the new device and that failure to surrender the old device within the given period will result to locking of your new device. After signing the waiver, our trade-in courier will hand over the new device to you.
Note that the trade-in offer is currently limited to select areas of Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna, and Cavite.

Customer mechanics
1. Customers may trade-in old device to purchase a new Galaxy device via Samsung online store. 2. Customer must select trade-in option in the product Buy Now page or Cart page. 3. Trade-in pop up will appear and customer to input the following details under "Select your device": a. Delivery postal code b. Device category (Smartphone or Tablet) c. Brand and model of the trade-in device d. Storage variant of the trade-in device 4. If customer's delivery postal code is eligible for trade-in, customer will be able to proceed with device selection. Store pickup option is not available for trade-in. 5. Customer to enter a valid 15-digit IMEI number to proceed to the last step (questionnaire). 6. Customer must accurately answer the questionnaire based on the condition of the old device to obtain the estimated trade-in value. 7. Customer must confirm and agree to the terms and conditions of the program to proceed. 8. The initial trade-in value will be reflected as instant discount on the eligible new Galaxy device in the customer's cart. 9. Customer may only trade-in one (1) device to purchase one (1) Galaxy device. Customer may only trade-in one (1) device to purchase one (1) Galaxy device. 10. Customer gets additional discount (top-up token) depending on the Galaxy device purchased. 11. Trade-In devices that are not eligible for additional discount/ Top-up token may still proceed with Trade-In with just the Trade-In device appraised value as discount. 12. Discounts and bundles are not convertible to cash. 13. Customer's trade-in device will be assessed by 3rd party courier during the delivery of purchased Galaxy device. Any difference in details or condition of the device from the customer's original declaration may result in cancellation of the transaction. Customer may also be given the option to pay an additional amount (variance from the initial trade-in discount) to be collected via email billing, to be able to proceed with the transaction. 14. Token top-up offers
1. For online store, customers may only trade-in one smartphone for valuation for one (1) new device. 2. Customers will get residual value discount and an additional token top-up based on the trade-up model they will purchase. Pls see below table for top-up token amount. 3. The smartphone valuation and additional top-up are not convertible to cash. 4. Trade-in, trade-up program can be combined with other existing Samsung nationwide promotions. 5. What is trade-in?Trade-in is a program where customers may trade-in their old smartphone or tablet to a new Galaxy device in the Samsung Online Store.

Are only Samsung devices eligible for trade-in?We accept all brands and models of Android and Apple devices except for very old devices with an outdated OS (Operating System) version.

Can you walk me through how to process my trade-in order?You can process your trade-in through the following steps:
1. Choose the product you wish to purchase and add it to cart.
2. Select trade-in option in the checkout page.
3. Input your postal code and details of the existing device you want to trade-in.
4. Input the IMEI of your existing device.
5. Answer a few questions to declare the condition of your existing device.
6. Based on the declared condition of your existing device, you will be notified if you are eligible for trade-in. If your device is confirmed eligible, you will be provided with the initial trade-in value.
7. Read and confirm the Samsung Trade-in Terms and Conditions.
8. The initial trade-in value will be deducted as a discount from the price of the new device in your cart.
9. Proceed to checkout.
Upon delivery of your new device, our assigned trade-in courier will re-assess the actual condition and details of the existing device based on your initial declaration before you completed the order checkout. Please note that you may be asked for an additional payment if the condition of your existing device does not match your initial declaration upon actual re-assessment of our courier. What is the difference between initial trade-in value and final trade-in value?Initial trade-in value is the maximum trade-in value the customer can get for a particular unit based on the declared condition before completing the checkout on the website. It is set based on the current resell market value as determined by our trade-in partner, Bolttech. Final trade-in value is the unit’s value after the actual re-assessment – to be coordinated by our assigned trade-in courier with Bolttech – based on actual physical condition of your existing device. Note that any discrepancy from your initial declaration on the website may result to a difference between the initial trade-in value and final trade-in value, so it is important to ensure that you declare the actual physical condition of your existing device upon initial assessment prior to checkout.

What happens to my trade-in order if the final trade-in value is different from the initial trade-in value?If the final trade-in value proves lower than the initial trade-in value upon actual re-assessment of our courier, you may choose to pay the variance using any of our available payment methods (except COD) through a payment link that will be sent directly to your registered email address by our trade-in partner. Once your payment is validated by our payment provider and trade-in partner, you will be required to sign a waiver for the separate collection of your old device within two (2) business days from your order’s delivery date. After which, our courier will proceed to handover the new device.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: If you refuse to pay the trade-in value difference, we will proceed with the cancellation of your trade-in transaction. You hereby understand therefore agree that we can cancel your trade-in transaction if you choose not to pay the trade-in value difference.

Can I pay for the difference between the initial trade-in value and the final trade-in value with cash via the courier?No, cash payment to the courier or transfer of money to any account is not accepted and there will be no other payment method available apart from the options listed in the payment link that will be sent directly to the email address you initially registered upon placement of your trade-in order.

How can I ensure my payment and contact information are secure if I have to pay the trade-in value difference?If you choose to pay the variance between the initial trade-in value and final trade-in value, your contact information would have been shared in advance by Samsung to our trade-in partner, for the purpose of sending the payment link to the email address you initially registered upon placement of your trade-in order. For your security, you are advised not to share any other personal or payment information to the courier. You also need to ensure that you are accessing the correct payment link, and the details like your order number/IMEI and payment information are correct.

Upon collection of our courier, please ensure to surrender the exact same old device in the same condition based on our previous assessment. The courier assigned to collect it will perform the same inspection to re-validate your old device and upon final acceptance, our courier will ask you to sign the acknowledgment form to document the collection. -
What will happen if I fail to surrender my old device to the courier?If you fail to surrender your old device to our courier within two (2) business days from the delivery date of your order, You understand and therefore agree that: we will remotely lock your new device.
In the case that you are no longer able to surrender your old device, you will be given the option to pay back the full forfeiture fee within 15 calendar days from the date when the new device is locked. This is equivalent to the residual value based on last assessment of your old device, plus the full overtrade discount amount, as the trade-in offer will be considered forfeited. You may refer to the formula below:
(Forfeiture Fee = Old Device Value upon assessment when New Device was delivered + Overtrade promotion discount value, if any)
You can pay the amount through a payment link that will be sent directly to the email address you initially registered upon placement of your trade-in order.
IMPORTANT: Note that cash payment to the courier or transfer of money to any account is not accepted and there will be no other payment method available apart from the options listed in the payment link you will receive. -
