How to block and unblock contacts on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone
If you're receiving spam calls or someone won't leave you alone, you can block their number. That way, their calls and text messages will no longer appear on your phone. If you changed your mind, you can remove a number from your Block list.
Choose any of these methods to block or unblock contacts in your Samsung Galaxy smartphone:
This method only works if the number is already added as a contact on your phone.
Step 1. Open Contacts and then select the contact you wish to block.
Step 2. Tap More options, and then tap Block contact.
Step 3. Tap Block to confirm
Similarly, you may unblock the contact by following the same steps.
Note: Even if you block a contact, they will still appear in your Contacts list.
You can also add a number to your Block list using the Phone app. When you do it this way, it doesn't matter whether or not the number is added to your contact.
Step 1. Open the Phone app. Tap More Options (the three dots) then tap Settings.
Step 2. Then, tap Block numbers.
Step 3. Tap Add phone number and then use the on-screen keypad to enter the phone number you want to block.
Step 4. Next, tap the Add icon (+) to add the contact to your Block list.
Step 5. Tap the ‘-’ icon to remove the number from the Block list
Step 6. Tab Recent or Contact, if you wish to add a number from there.
Alternatively, you can block numbers from your call log. Navigate to the Recents tab in the Phone app, and tap the phone number you want to block. Tap Details, and then tap Block and tap Block again to confirm.
